Thank You Interns

1

This Friday will be a bitter-sweet day for us as we wrap up our Summer Camp season. What a blessing it was to have such a full and fun year! We will miss seeing familiar faces of our campers, the sound of the pool running, and kids screaming that Bible time is the most important time of the day.

However, Saturday is another bitter-sweet day for us as we will see our interns leave their current role. We are so thankful to have spent time with these leaders. We are thankful for the many hours they have poured into this ministry and His Kingdom. Without their faithful humble service and commitment to the Lord’s calling, it would be difficult to continue the ministry God has placed on Camp Manitoqua & Retreat Center. So this Saturday we say goodbye to the following people:

 2014-2015 Interns

  • Krissie Kramer (pictured left) | This beloved Packers fan has accepted the Out of School Time Activity Leader position at Felcon Heights High School. During her time here, Krissie was instrumental in helping create the devotional booklets that went home with our Overnight Campers (REZ) this summer. She also used her photography skills to capture the beauty God's creation here at Manitoqua which you can see throughout the website. We will deeply miss Krissie's servant heart, thoughtfulness, and warm heart!

  • Aaron Carlson (pictured center) | We have the blessing of being able to say "see you tomorrow" to Aaron as he has accepted the year-around program assistant position here at Camp. During his time as an intern Aaron was instrumental in using his locksmith skills in which he repaired broken door locks for us. He also installed some donated speakers in our chapel and was the "garbage man" when it came to do random tasks around the ministry. We look forward to what God has planned for Aaron in the upcoming year!

  • Kristen Slotman (pictured right) | Staff party, Kristen transitions into her new role as a Physics teacher at Holland High in Holland, Michigan. Kristen will also coach the J.V. girls basketball team. She came into the internship in March of this year. She was able to pick up and run with whatever was thrown her way. It was a blessing to watch her run with tasks given to her with such confidence within a short window of time. We are thankful for her willingness to be fully committed to whatever she was asked. We look forward to seeing how God will use her in the classroom in the upcoming year.

We will miss these interns (Krissie and Kristen) a lot, but we can't be more excited for you with where the Lord is leading you. We can't think of any better sending than the blessing that comes from Numbers 6:24-26, "May the Lord bless you and keep you; may his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; may the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. Now and forevermore. Amen"

I can echo all of these comments. I beleive these interns will be able to take the skills they learned from Manitoqua, and apply them to their future jobs!
