Spring Work Day Thank you & Recap:
Thank you to all the volunteers who turned out on Saturday, April 15th for the Spring Work Day at Camp Manitoqua! The Lord provided an unseasonably sunny, warm day for the 150 volunteers who turned out to help get the grounds ready for our Spring Retreat and Summer Camp seasons. Because of you our shelters are cleared and set up, the baseball, basketball and volleyball courts are ready, and the landscape beds around our buildings and pool were raked, weeded, and mulched. A part of the kitchen ceiling in our Dining Hall was patched and painted and the Activity Center was set up and organized for summer. The Adventure Zone trails were cleared and mulched, the GelBall course was cleaned up, and a few trees were removed. Wood was split for firewood and the firepits were stocked. In addition to the work done outside, some volunteers worked inside to assemble a large mailing.
It is always a blessing to walk around and see what gets accomplished in just three hours! We are so thankful for all of you who shared your time, energy and skills preparing Camp Manitoqua to welcome our guests and cmpaers so that God's Spirit can change lives!
We hope you can join us again for our fall Work Day on October 21, 2023 from 8:30 – 11:30am.
Why the work day?
It would be difficult for us to imagine what the ministry of Camp Manitoqua would be like if we did not have the support of local churches, organizations and our brothers and sisters in Christ co-laboring alongside us on our spring and fall work days. It is truly inspiring to see volunteers of all ages come together for the purpose of beautifying the campgrounds and completing various projects in an effort to improve Camp Manitoqua. Watching people volunteer to accomplish dirty and sometimes difficult jobs all out of a common love for Camp Manitoqua and for the Lord is a humbling experience for us. When we come together to co-labor for great Kingdom purposes in His name, we believe God receives all the honor and glory. Without your help on these Work Days, we would not be able to serve guests the way we do. Won't you help us in our mission to provide a setting that invites others to a personal commitment to Christ as their Lord & Savior?
