Fall 2023 Work Day Thank you & Recap:

Many thanks to the 66 volunteers who turned out on Saturday, October 21, 2023, for the Fall Work Day at Camp Manitoqua!  Because of you our shelters are ready for winter, the basketball, baseball, soccer, 9 square and volleyball equipment has been pulled in and stored, the landscape beds around our buildings and pool have been raked and weeded and some deck boards were replaced.  Several small trees were taken down and cut up, bushes were trimmed, dead tree branches were removed and wood was split for firewood.  Inside, the office windows were washed and multiple shredding projects were finished.

We are grateful for the opportunity to utilize the community shredding event on Saturday morning hosted by Shark Shredding!  Thank you Shark Shredding!

It always a blessing to have volunteers on the grounds and to see what gets accomplished in just three hours!   We are so thankful for all of you who shared your time, energy and skills in helping us clean up the grounds and ready the camp for our continued Retreat Season and for winter.

We hope you can join us for our Spring Work Day on April 20, 2024 from 8:30 – 11:30am to help us get ready for our summer guests and campers!

Camp Manitoqua, established in 1957, has been welcoming guests and campers for 65 years by creating an environment for people of all ages to relax, retreat, refresh and have fun, and to allow God’s Spirit to change lives.

Why the work day?

It would be difficult for us to imagine what the ministry of Camp Manitoqua would be like if we did not have the support of local churches, organizations and our brothers and sisters in Christ co-laboring alongside us on our spring and fall work days. It is truly inspiring to see volunteers of all ages come together for the purpose of beautifying the campgrounds and completing various projects in an effort to improve Camp Manitoqua. Watching people volunteer to accomplish dirty and sometimes difficult jobs all out of a common love for Camp Manitoqua and for the Lord is a humbling experience for us. When we come together to co-labor for great Kingdom purposes in His name, we believe God receives all the honor and glory. Without your help on these Work Days, we would not be able to serve guests the way we do. Won't you help us in our mission to provide a setting that invites others to a personal commitment to Christ as their Lord & Savior?
