Camp Manitoqua was once again blessed through the time and effort of volunteers attending our annual Spring Work Day on Saturday, April 26th.

We have had 100-150 volunteers every year for 16 years. I know Manitoqua has been blessed with great volunteers. In that moment, watching this dad choose service over comfort, I experienced again just how blessed the ministry of Manitoqua is.

We are looking for a group (or groups) to come out and replace deck boards, do some deck repair, sand down some rough edges, and put a nice coat of stain on the deck, railings, and benches.

Deep down, at the core of every human being, exists some level of the Great Commandment, “And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.’ The second is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12:30-31). We desire that relationships where we support one another because we know that we have certain skills and gifting’s that are to be used.

Thank you to everyone who came and gave up their Saturday to clean-up the grounds. Each year we are blessed and amazed to see the changes that take place in about 6 hours time!

On Saturday April 12, 2014 there were 146 adults and youth who joined the Manitoqua team to spend their day preparing the Camp Manitoqua and King’s Camp grounds for the summer camp and retreat season.
