Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these” - Matthew 19:14
If you have ever been a part of our summer staff, whether for one summer or five, you know the highs and lows of this job. Campers, and their parents, saw the love of Christ in the way you greeted them on Monday morning check-in and throughout the following week. Simple things like learning their names on the first day and listening to all of their stories were powerful ways to love your campers. Joy was evident in the way you play games, talk with campers and staff, and talk about walking with Christ. The peace that only Christ can bring was taught (and caught) throughout formal teachings, such as Bible time or chapel. Patience was seen as you waited for "Timmy" to tie his shoe for the 90th time of the morning and the way you listened to a fifteen-minute story with no real plot.
The list could go on and on....
This week's touchpoint highlights our summer staff and the impact they have on our summer camp program. By supporting the mission of Camp Manitoqua you will allow this ministry to continue - one that is not just for campers but for our staff as well. Numerous former summer staff has gone on to pursue a career in ministry or teaching because of their time here. What a joy it is has been for us as a ministry to watch how the Lord continues to work in the lives of our campers and staff even after their time here has ended.
In addition to supporting the ministry with a direct donation, you can always do the following as well:
